Two ways to pay
Virginia Medicaid (Cardinal Care)
If you or your parent has Virginia Medicaid and qualifies for long-term care, help at home with bathing, dressing and other daily care can be covered. We give care through the Virginia Medicaid waiver. How Medicaid home care works.
Private pay
You pay per hour for the care you need. The price depends on the kind of care and the number of hours, and we give you a clear price on the phone before care starts.
What about Medicare?
Medicare does not pay for long-term personal care at home when that is the only care you need. Medicare home health covers part-time skilled care, such as a nurse or therapist, for people who are homebound, when a doctor orders it. Sources: medicare.gov, home health services and long-term care.

How much does home care cost?
With Virginia Medicaid, personal care at home is covered by your health plan once you qualify for long-term care. Some people pay part of the cost each month (patient pay), depending on their income; your local Department of Social Services sets that amount.
With private pay, the price depends on the care and the number of hours. Call us for a clear price.
Does Medicare pay for home care?
Only for part-time skilled care, such as a nurse or therapist, when you are homebound and a doctor orders it. Medicare does not pay for long-term help with bathing, dressing and daily care when that is the only care you need.
Can we switch to Ma-Lowe from another agency?
Yes. Talk to your care coordinator, or call us. We help you with the transfer.
